I hope you’re having a great Thanksgiving and are getting to spend some quality time with family and loved ones. I can tell you that Thanksgiving is one holiday I really enjoy, and not just because I get to eat amazing food.
In my family, we have a tradition that I hated as a kid. My grandpa made us go around the table and say what we were most thankful for. It took forever and my dinner always got cold. But now I understand how important it is to give thanks out loud.
Saying something out loud makes it real. It’s not just a feeling or something you can take for granted. It’s risky, but it can change someone’s life.
I want to share the thing I’m most grateful for today. I’m thankful for my family, especially my wife. She’s toughed through a crazy year between school, having me away at military training, and having a baby. I am so blessed to have such amazing people in my life.
I know you’ve got someone who’s been good to you and who needs to hear you say it.
Make time today (even if you don’t think you can find it) to have a side conversation or quick phone call with them to explain how thankful you are to have them in your life. They need to hear it and it’s good for you too.
I hope you get a few days of rest before we head into the holidays.
