The Power of Using Templates to Increase Your Productivity

Last Saturday was a travel day for me, which meant that the previous week was all about planning and preparing. So, I wanted to share a little bit about the power of using templates to increase your productivity and my exact process for creating templates.

The Power of Using Templates to Increase Your Productivity

Anytime I travel, I always prepare for the trip using templates I’ve created previously.

My travel list template helps me research things to do, check road conditions, and plan my route.

I have tasks set up to show me the email confirmation when I arrive at the hotel so I don’t have to go looking for it.

And my packing list template reminds me of the clothes I need to bring for different occasions and makes sure that I don’t forget anything essential like my phone’s charging cord.

Using templates is a total game-changer!

Here’s my process for creating a template…

The second time I do an activity, I document the steps.

Why not the first time?

Well, the first time you do something, you’re still trying to figure it out.

The second time you do something, you’ve already made the mistakes and you know the basic steps.

Then the third time and every time after that, I use the template and update it with any additions or changes.

The more times I do something, the easier the process gets.

Templates allow me to save time, eliminate worry about forgetting anything important, and have peace of mind so I can focus more on enjoying the moment.

As simple as this process is for travel, it’s the same exact process I use for businesses.

We go step-by-step through identifying the major processes in their business, documenting the tasks, and refining the process to increase their overall efficiency.

The checklists and standard operating procedures we develop streamline the day-to-day work so they can focus on the bigger picture and move their business forward.

I know you’re busy (either in your daily life or in business).

I’m busy too.

But sometimes it’s important to slow down, document the process to create a template, and reap the benefits for the long-term.
